“Best Practices” for supervising misdemeanor Domestic Violence offenders have been established based on current research, national best practices, and the work of other probation agencies across the country. The most effective way to intervene and change behavior with domestic violence offenders is to maintain a collaborative team effort between the probation office and treatment providers. The purpose of offender contact and monitoring is to continue to enforce the rules and conditions of probation with immediate sanctions for violations in order to promote offender accountability and victim safety.
